Brenda is a public school teacher who has come to deliver a speech at a board meeting, on behalf of teachers against a framework that includes sexualized content. She says she fears this controversial framework will jeopardize thousands of teachers’ jobs. She reveals that the district that she teaches in is decreasing in enrolment numbers and, she fears this framework will wreak havoc on the public school system.

She tells the board that she has recently shown her colleagues the book, “Who Are You?” which says kids can be both genders using the pronouns “them or theirs” or neither gender.  She says most teachers are shocked and appalled when they see this and, they are also afraid that they may potentially be forced to teach concepts that go against their conscience. Teachers believe that these concepts are harmful to children and yet, they are afraid that if they don’t use these non-binary pronouns they might be accused of discrimination and lose their jobs. She concludes by ordering the board to reject the framework.
